
The walk around the lake its self is all flat terrain with no hills.

This walk can be very busy at most times of the year, attracts lots of tourists, especially in summer. It's a flat walk with a cafe and toilets at both the front and back of the lake.
Dogs are allowed on and off the lead. There's a bird watching hut, and picnic areas available. Along the front of the lake is plenty of restaurants, chip shops and an arcade.

This walk is part of the penine way, expect lots of Hills and uneven terrain
There is limited parking available at the white house inn located just acrros the road from where you enter the penine walk route.
This pub offers food, drinks and toilets.
This walk can be quite hard going at first as you are climbing up hill, then up some more as you travel up the remains of a cobbled roman road.
It is very likely that you will not see many people on this walk as the penines are a vast wealth of fields and rocks, occupied by sheep.
Dogs can be walked off of the lead, but please be mindful of the farmers sheep in the field if you do decide to let them off.
Also please wear a good pair of walking boots and wrap up warm!.

The terrain is mostly flat with only a few hills here and there, nothing too steep.

This walk can be quite busy most times of the year as it is a wooded Pennine valley in West Yorkshire and a national trust area.
It is a beautiful place for anyone looking to take the family and their four legged friends for a nice walk and a picnic.
